SOSORT Guidelines for Treatment of Idiopathic Scoliosis (2011)

What is it?

The International Scientific Society on Scoliosis Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Treatment (SOSORT) has updated their 2005 guidelines with the aim to give professionals and patients an evidence-based updated literature review for the conservative treatment of idiopathic scoliosis (CTS). They have performed an extensive review of the scientific literature and provided some recommendations in the following areas of conservative treatment: bracing, PT exercises to prevent scoliosis progression during growth and during brace treatment and surgical therapy, respiratory function and exercises, sport activities, assessment and other conservative treatments.
