23 ½ hours: What is the single best thing we can do for our health?

What is it?

From Doc Mike Evans and the Evans Health Lab, the video “23 ½ Hours” delivers an engaging video promoting exercise as a means of treating almost all health concerns including arthritis, diabetes, dementia, fatigue, anxiety, heart disease, etc. Seen by almost 5 million people, the video uses high quality research to convince viewers that by limiting their time spent sleeping and sitting to just 23 ½ hours and exercising at a moderate intensity for just 30 minutes to an hour daily, they can significantly improve their health and quality of life.

Other videos from this group cover the topics of low back pain, diabetes, smoking, concussions and many more.

Our thoughts:

Video resources are great ways to get messages across to patients. The video 23 ½ Hours does a wonderful job of selling the ease and effectiveness of increasing our levels of activity by just 30 minutes a day as a way of improving many health outcomes. Useful as a patient tool or as a reminder to physiotherapists of the effectiveness of simply encouraging more movement, this video is worth its weight in gold.
