What Is It?
The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) is a well documented outcome measure used to quantify and monitor sleep quality. With only 10 questions, the PSQI gathers information regarding a patient’s subjective sleep quality, sleep latency, sleep duration, habitual sleep efficiency, disturbances, use of sleeping medications and daytime dysfunction.

Sleep is an important component to healing and often times pain and/ or stress from an illness or injury may disturb our normal sleep cycle. This quick and easy to complete outcome measure is able to give us a wide variety of information as it relates to a patients habits and sleep quality. Use it to help identify a sleep issue or monitor changes in sleep quality throughout a patients recovery!
